The “First Class Double Rotor Black Edition” is a limited edition of 240 pieces presented in a steel case with a 42mm diameter and treated – for the first time in this line – with black PVD. Entirely designed and produced in Perrelet’s manufacture, it benefits from patented Double Rotor technology with a double oscillating mass that allows the automatic mechanism to accumulate energy from the two rotors. Underneath a slightly domed sapphire crystal is the skeletonised dial allowing a generous view of the manufacture movement. For the first time since its launch in 2009, Perrelet’s iconic Turbine collection welcomes a horological complication; a chronograph, offering a further demonstration of the brand’s technical expertise. The additional function is clearly displayed on the dial of the Turbine Chrono automatic model without detracting from the singular identity of the collection. The chronograph measurements are provided by a central seconds chronograph hand and a particularly innovative 60-minute counter. Perrelet surprises watch enthusiasts with new interpretations of its “Turbine Pilot”, a collection inspired by the world of aviation. To undertake its mission as a pilot’s watch, “Turbine Pilot” combines the turbine to a circular slide rule. Aviation slide rules are analogue calculation tools and a vital support instrument for pilots before and during flight. Equipped with a series of concentric discs with different graduated scales, aviation slide rules perform various conversions of measures with great speed. The generous case size of 48mm and the characteristic fluting on the case middle are hallmark Turbine family features. Crafted in stainless steel with a black PVD coating, the case is water-resistant to depths of 5o metres and frames a complex, three-dimensional dial with its hypnotic turbine and blades which spin at the slightest movement of the wrist. The beating heart of this compendium of innovative technology and contemporary design is Perrelet’s manufacture P-331-MH automatic calibre. Engalanado en negro de pies a cabeza, el "Turbine Carbon Black Edition" cumple plenamente las expectativas de los aficionados de los relojes que adoran los diseños atrevidos pero clásicos y refinados. Para conseguir el aspecto "Total Black", la caja, la esfera, la icónica turbina y la correa se han teñido de negro. El cuerpo central de la caja está compuesto de policarbonato y fibra de carbono. Debido a su extrema ligereza, este material es muy agradable en la muñeca. También es robusto y cuenta con una excelente capacidad de aislamiento térmico y resistencia a los agentes químicos y a las variaciones de temperatura. Por otro lado, el bisel y el fondo de la caja son de acero inoxidable recubierto de PVD negro mate.
Como ambos elementos con tono sobre tono, el efecto óptico creado durante la máxima velocidad de rotación de la turbina parece hacerla desaparecer. Gracias a los cinco contrapesos colocados bajo las aspas, cuando la oscilación se ralentiza, la turbina resurge en toda su belleza y vuelve a su posición original.
